Site Prep & Pad Work in the Treasure Valley

A solid base for whatever you build next.

Before a shop, home, or driveway goes in, the ground has to be prepped right. Iron Crest Earthworks builds the pads and bases that everything else sits on — building and shop pads, driveway and road base, gravel placement, sub-grade prep, and culvert and approach installation across the Treasure Valley.

A pad that's prepped and compacted correctly is invisible when it's done right and a nightmare when it's done wrong. We bring the base material, place it, and compact it so your structure or driveway has a stable, well-draining foundation from day one.

How we handle site prep & pad work

  1. 01

    Set the scope & grade

We confirm the pad size, location, and finished height against your plans, then quote it free.

  2. 02

    Prep the sub-grade

We strip, cut, and compact the native ground so the base has something solid to sit on.

  3. 03

    Place & compact base

Road base or gravel is brought in, spread to depth, and compacted in lifts.

  4. 04

    Finish & detail

We grade the surface true and install any culverts or approaches the access needs.

In the Treasure Valley

Built for local ground

A lot of Treasure Valley site prep is for shops and outbuildings on rural Canyon County parcels and gravel driveways off county roads — which often means a culvert and a proper approach at the ditch. We build pads and bases that handle Idaho's freeze-thaw and drain well, so they don't pump or rut over the first wet winter.

Site Prep & Pad Work FAQs

Can you build a pad for a shop or pole barn?

Yes — building and shop pads are a core part of what we do. We prep, place, and compact the base so your structure sits level and stable.

Do you install driveway culverts and approaches?

Yes. Where a driveway meets a county road or ditch, we install the culvert and build a proper approach.

What kind of base material do you use?

Typically crushed road base or gravel sized to the load, placed in compacted lifts. We'll recommend the right material for your project.

How thick should my driveway base be?

It depends on the traffic and the soil. We'll spec a depth that holds up to your use and the local ground conditions.
