How to Prepare for Demolition Day

Once your demolition is scheduled, a little prep on your end keeps the job smooth and safe. Most of the heavy coordination is ours — permits, disconnects, sequencing — but a few things go easier when the owner handles them ahead of time. Here's a simple rundown.

Clear out anything you're keeping

Pull out belongings, fixtures, or materials you want to keep before the day. If there's lumber, brick, or fixtures worth salvaging, tell us in advance so we remove them carefully instead of demolishing them.

Let us handle permits and disconnects

We coordinate the demolition permit and the utility disconnects. Your part is small: make sure any utility accounts in your name are set up to be shut off, and pass along anything the utility told you.

Sort out access and staging

Equipment needs a clear path in and room to work. Move vehicles, unlock gates, and let us know about anything that limits access so we bring the right machines.

A heads-up to neighbors — and pets

On tight lots, a quick courtesy note to neighbors about a day or two of noise and dust goes a long way. And keep pets inside, away from the work zone, while the crew is on site.

Common questions

Do I need to be home during the demolition?

Not necessarily — as long as we have access to the site and a way to reach you, you don't have to be there. We'll confirm the details when we schedule.

Can I keep materials from the structure?

Yes. Flag anything you want salvaged — lumber, fixtures, brick — in advance, and we'll remove it carefully rather than demolishing it.
